Our Violence Interrupters are trusted “Credible Messengers”—individuals from the community who have firsthand experience with violence or a deep understanding of its impact. These individuals are well-connected with both at-risk groups and key community stakeholders, allowing them to make a real difference. As Outreach Workers, they provide crucial Safe Passage services, offering proactive peacemaking, violence interruption, and ongoing community engagement. Kiwanis oversees this program, ensuring that each Violence Interrupter is equipped with the right tools to effectively engage with the community and reduce violence.

Through their direct interactions, our Violence Interrupters address barriers and work to reduce risks by connecting community members with valuable resources and referrals. This approach ensures that the community’s unique needs are met, fostering a safer and more resilient environment for everyone.
